For purposes of the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA), VAAL ICE (Pty) Ltd is the responsible party. The certificate records the Information Officer appointment date as 7 July 2025.

Information we may process

Depending on your interaction with us, we may process names, contact details, billing and delivery addresses, account and order information, transaction and payment-status information, support and warranty records, device/browser information, IP address, website usage information, marketing preferences, consent and opt-out records, installation-site information, photographs supplied for technical support, and information required for fraud prevention or legal compliance.

Why we use information

We may process personal information to create and manage accounts, accept and fulfil orders, verify payments, deliver products, provide quotations and installations, provide technical support, process returns and warranties, prevent fraud, maintain accounting records, comply with legal obligations, improve our services and conduct lawful marketing.

Service providers

Our store is hosted using Shopify. We may share information that is reasonably necessary with payment providers, couriers, distributors, manufacturers, warranty centres, cloud providers, analytics providers and other service providers used to operate the business. Information may be processed outside South Africa where permitted under POPIA and appropriate safeguards apply.

Direct marketing

SecureVision SA may use email, SMS, telephone, WhatsApp, push notifications or similar channels for direct marketing only where permitted by law. Where consent is required, we will request it. We will provide an appropriate way to unsubscribe or object and will record and respect valid opt-out requests. Applicable National Consumer Commission Opt-Out Registry requirements will also be followed.

Cookies, retention and security

We may use cookies and similar technologies for essential storefront functions, checkout, fraud prevention, preferences, analytics and lawful advertising. We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary or required by law, contract, warranty administration, accounting or dispute resolution. Reasonable technical and organisational safeguards are used to protect personal information.

Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access or correction, request deletion or destruction where permitted, object to certain processing, withdraw consent where applicable, object to direct marketing and lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator.
