Nothing in this policy limits a consumer right under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 or other applicable South African law.
ECTA cooling-off
Where ECTA's cooling-off provisions apply, a consumer may cancel qualifying goods without reason or penalty within seven days after receiving the goods. Statutory exclusions may apply, including certain personalised or specially made goods and other categories specified by law. Where the cooling-off right applies, the consumer will generally bear the direct cost of returning the goods.
Defective, unsafe or unsuitable goods
Where the CPA applies, qualifying consumers retain the statutory remedies provided by the Act. Goods that fail to meet applicable standards of quality, safety, durability or fitness for purpose may qualify for repair, replacement or refund as provided by law. Manufacturer or distributor warranties do not replace these statutory rights.
Technical assessment
Security products may require reasonable inspection or testing to determine the reported fault, serial number, physical condition, configuration, installation condition, compatibility and whether the issue is caused by the product or by another part of the system. Testing will not be used to unlawfully delay or defeat a statutory right.
How to request a return
Contact SecureVision SA at tsheposetene@gmail.com or 073 237 6924. Please provide the order number, product/model, serial number where applicable, reason for return and relevant photographs or video if available. We will provide return, collection or assessment instructions.
Packaging and accessories
Where reasonably possible, returned goods should include supplied accessories, manuals, remotes, power supplies, brackets, cables and other components. Missing packaging will not be used to unlawfully deny a remedy for defective goods.
Return costs and refunds
For a valid ECTA cooling-off cancellation, the consumer generally bears the direct return cost where the Act provides. For defective or non-conforming goods, collection and return costs will be handled according to applicable law. Approved refunds will normally be made to the original payment method, and statutory refunds will be processed within the legally required period. No unlawful restocking, cancellation or administration fee will be charged.
